Devblog #8: The Big Pre-Launch Checkpoint (0.0.06 Is Getting Close)

Still Day 7 of actually writing these instead of just thinking “yeah I’ll do it tomorrow”. Let’s goooo! (Yes, two posts in one day, my keyboard is on fire.)

No stories, no memes—just the raw progress dump before I dive back in.

What’s already done and working:

New Additions

  • Prefixes and suffixes on items
  • 4 new weapon elemental types
  • 4 new weapon modifiers
  • Modification panel in smith menu
  • 4 new damage log textures

Polish

  • Forge menu synthesizer
  • Shop menu minor visual improvements
  • Shrine menu medium visual improvements

Quality of Life

  • Game now autosaves every time you change areas
  • General performance improvements – stats load faster, less hitching

Minor Additions

  • Pause menu: mana bar now works and looks proper

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed “New Game” loading old save data
  • Fixed music sometimes getting stuck or not changing

What’s still outstanding before 0.0.06 launches:

  • Weapon modifier mechanics for Frost Sword, Fire Sword, and Poison Sword
  • Player death punishment system
  • Teleport scroll logic & implementation
  • Missing sound effects (various spots)
  • Finish player character spritesheet
  • Stage progression system for Stage 2
  • Optimize Stage 1 boss performance
  • Complete spritesheet for Stage 2 boss
  • Implement Stage 2 boss mechanics
  • Player HUD hotbar improvements
  • Settings menu (toggle damage logs, audio controls, etc.)
  • Full game stats & balance pass
